Underworld!!!! *glee*
Heh. So that's what a decent prequel looks like.

While it was about 30 minutes too short (I'd have loved a little more character development to get more into the Sonya/Lucien romance [not a spoiler, since we know that these two have an illicit affair from Underworld 1]) it was one of the better movies I've gone to the theater to watch in the past few years. And it's the best prequel I've seen.

If you weren't into the first two Underworld movies, you probably won't like this one. But if you loved the first two (Selene/Michael 4ever!!!! Sorry, fangurl moment), you'll most likely enjoy this one and you'll have more of an appreciation for the events of the original and the sequel.

If you want spoilers (again, you already know most of the major events because they tell you in the original one), let me know and I'll share.

I'll wait for the DVD, as I liked the first one but I prefer my bloodshed on a smaller, less detailed screen.

Sooo....
The now we know how #4 ends: Michael dies.
Because Inyri killed him.

OMG, when it looked like he died in 2, I burst into tears in the theater. I was sobbing. Out loud. It was horrible.

I'm surprised they let him live. Because I've shipped Selene/Michael hardcore since the first movie. In which Michael almost dies, also. I think he almost dies a lot because of my shippiness. I can't help it; I kill ships.

OOOO! Astro, will you make me a Selene/Michael icon? PULLEEAASSSEEE

Honestly I'm surprised he's lasted this long. I keeping expecting it to be final this time (because he's got to have a weakness (other than Selene)). But now they have to make baby uber!werewolfuber!vampires.

I'm kinda surprised he lasted this long, too. As someone noted on wikipedia, when Michael manages to run away, he's doing well. I really did think it was final in 2. And you're right, sooner or later his luck is going to run out because you really do think he's a goner when Kraven shoots him in the first movie, and then you're sure he's a goner when he's in the damn body-bag in the second movie. And I ship him. He's doomed.

In similar related news, he tends to die a decent chunk of the time in Underworld fic, too. Although that's more to give Selene angst.
