When Harry Met Corran...
So last summer I read the Harry Potter novels. About the time I read the first one, I remarked that Harry had a lot in common with the Star Wars character, Corran Horn. I then wrote up this fic summary (I'm never going to actually write the fic).
Independently, at the same time, AstroNut created this icon (see icon) about the same thing. Great minds obviously think alike. Astro has graciously given me permission to use it (squee!) and it has made me so happy, I have decided to share my Crack!Fic Summary about when Harry met Corran.
Although parody doesn't fall in the realm of copywrite law, I will still say that I own neither Harry Potter nor Star Wars.
Setting: Before and during SoA; Before HP 7.
Chapter One: Corran
In chapter one, we meet Corran Horn, starfighter pilot extrordinaire. Corran is on Corellia, his homeworld, because one of the world's major universities is naming a building after him. Corran, because he is so wonderful, is also receiving an honorary degree. After the ceremony, Corran is approached by an old man who knew his biological grandfather. The man says several secretive things, and Corran's curiosity is sparked. Mirax, Corran's wife (who is too good for him), distracts Corran. They argue about something stupid and pointless, just to show that their marriage isn't perfect, even though Corran is part of it. After the argument, Corran seeks out the old man. The old man reveals to Corran that his father had an older brother who was hidden far and across the galaxy so the Emperor would never find him.
Chapter Two: Harry
Harry has returned to school and is talking with best bud Ron. Harry confesses he's been dreaming about his parents a lot recently and he feels there is something important about them that he doesn't know. Whatever it is, it will be vital he learns it before he fights Voldemort. At this point, members of Harry's team stop to talk to him so we're reminded how good Harry is as a seeker. They remind Harry that they have a game later that week, and all worry about it. After the team leaves, Ron and Harry try to come up with a plan to learn what Harry's dreams could mean.
Chapter Three: Corran
We rejoin Corran, now on Coruscant. He is in Wedge's office, telling Wedge about his recent trip to Corellia. He brings up what the old man told him and angsts that he may have family that is still alive and he wishes to know this possible family. Wedge listens and acts OOC sympathetic.
Chapter Four: Harry
We rejoin Harry as he is talking with Hermione and Ron. Harry is angsting that he will continue to watch people around him die if he doesn't learn what his dreams mean. He knows it has something to do with his parents and if there was just some way he could talk to them, he could learn what he needed to save the magical world.
Chapter Five: Corran
Wedge has been sent away by Airen Cracken, so Corran turns to buds Gavin and Inyri to help. Gavin suggests they start by searching the records that they have from the old museum thanks to Corran having found it years earlier when he escaped Lusankya. They hurry to the museum and miraculously find the record within the next twenty four hours. Corran learns he has a cousin named James. Corran angsts because he has never known James.
Chapter Six: Harry
Hermione suggests that they cast a spell to allow Harry to go back in time and talk with his father. Ron and Hermione manage to miraculously gather everything they need in a few hours. Harry angsts a bit because he is unsure what he will learn. The spell works and Harry goes back in time. He is able to talk with his father in his father's dream. His father admits to Harry that his father (Harry's grandfather) had a younger brother and that he had only learned this recently. He plans to try to find this long lost relative. Harry is snapped back to reality and tells Ron and Hermione what he has learned and angsts because he has never known these relatives.
Chapter Seven: Corran
Gavin and Inyri encourage Corran to seek out James. Corran has James's last known address and goes off to find him. Amazingly, Corran is able to come to Earth and track down what has happened to James in a short period of time. He learns that James has died, but James had a son named Harry. Corran angsts because, not only did he never know his uncle, he never knew James as well. Everyone in Corran's llife dies.
Chapter Eight: Harry
Harry is angsting because he cannot find any trace of his other family. He angsts because he is alone. Harry leaves school for a few days in the non-magical world. While there, he has a strange feeling that leads him to a courthouse where records are kept. There, he asks for a file on the Potter family and learns another person has already checked it out. The clerk indicates a man seated across the room. Fearing it is Voldemort or one of his lackeys, Harry becomes scared but turns around and sees Corran. Corran looks up at that moment, and Harry knows that Corran is his long lost relative.
Chapter Nine: Corran
Corran introduces himself to Harry and the two realize that Harry's father is Corran's cousin. Corran and Harry start to trade life stories. When Corran hears about Harry's problems with Voldemort, he offers to help. After all, Corran was able to stand up to a dark lord of the Sith. Then again, the only reason he survived was because of Mara, but Corran doesn't share this information. Harry introduces Corran to his friends Ron and Hermione.
Chapter Ten: Harry
Harry finally faces off against Voldemort. All of Harry's friends help, but most get badly injured. Corran also helps. Together, Harry and Corran defeat Voldemort and save the day. Harry's friends all get better. Corran invites Harry to visit him in the GFFA anytime Harry wants. Harry is happy because he has family in Corran and they are nice to him. Corran is happy because he is able to connect with his biological family and he sees a lot of himself in Harry.
The End...Until the next world-ending-crisis.
